02 wireless (Saturday)
Highlights
- Underworld – remember Born Slippy from Trainspotting, but so much more – think I have 7 of their albums
- Fat Boy Slim – the famous alter ego of Norman Cook, you must know him!
- Dans Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip – Hip hop/Electronic - I love “Thy shall not kill”
- Sam Sparro – bit poppy really, but I love Black and Gold
Nozstock Festival
Set in Herefordshire, so only about an hour from home. A small festival that we first went to in 2007, where my highlights were Sub Giant and the Anomolies, never thought I'd like hip hop before seeing them.
Highlights
- Finding the psytrance dance area – even got Simon dancing !
- Utah Saints
Big Chill
Highlights
I don't think it’s much who you see but the overall vibe, wondering from stage to tent and dancing to chilling. Overall I preferred it last year, or maybe it was because we found the Sunrise Field and much preferred the laid back vibe. Drinking chai in the sun, with old hobbies, so feeling centered!
- Chilling out in the Sunrise field. Because of the floods at sunrise earlier in the year, The Big Chill offered them a field. So glad they did, would never have thought about going there otherwise. Will be at sunrise in 2009.

- Staying in a podpad – I know we are only about 40 minutes away but it was so nice to have our little house!
- Buying a bell tent – we saw them and loved them so bought one -
Bloom
Oh dear, the weather was awful. There’s nothing worse than being on the top of a hill in the wind and rain. Last year had been fantastic, one of our favourites, but this year I can’t think of any highlights. Even missed Roni Size as couldn’t wait another 4 hours feeling miserable!
Lowlights
- The weather it was cold and wet and miserable!
- Bands we had wanted to se went on at different times and we missed them
Beautiful Days
Highlights
- The dance tent with Sancho Panza Soundsystem
- The Levellers – loved them for years – it’s a beautiful day!
- Nouvelle Vague – new takes on songs you know
- Tofu Love Frogs – high energy roots/ punk
- Transglobal Underground – can never have enough of them
- 3 Daft Monkeys, again!
- Various bands I can’t remember but who had me dancing like crazy in the mud
Lowlights
- Being tractored off, twice! We missed the Oysterband as we had to leave early or would never have got home.
Creamfields
Their 10th anniversary, we were one of the oldest, but did we care! Not when you could dance and the people were great! With learning to DJ when I saw who was playing I just had to go!
Highlights
- Pendulum– drum n bass – my son used to listen to them all the time and then it clicked with me.
- Tiesto – fab trance DJ
- Too many to mention but loved Fat Boy Slim, The Gossip, Simian Mobile disco, The Presets, Eric Prydz, Soulwax, Ferry Corsten, Underworld, Paul Oakenfold and more.
Bestival
This should have been the highlight of the year, but the torrential rain made it unsafe. So sad but we had to leave early, but will be back in 2009
Highlights
- Pendulum – can’t get enough of them!
- Sub Giant – great electronic dance band and great live
- The way it was decorated
Lowlights
- The mud and the weather. I fell over so many times it wasn’t funny.
