Our Holidays
I love travelling, here's some details of trips. You can access the photo gallery and my diary, which is a PDF
Egypt (27th March - 10th April 2009)
After 3 back packing holidays we decided to have a much more luxurious trip with 5* hotels. We arranged a trip which saw us start in Egypt staying at a hotel with views of the pyramids, move onto Aswan with a trip to Abu Simbel. We then joined the Oberoi Philae for a 6 night cruise down the Nile, ending at the Winter Palace in Luxor for the final 3 nights. we loved our holiday.

South India (22nd December 2007 - 9th January 2008)
We hadn’t intended to go back to India so soon but decided to go so we could visit Uncle George’s grave in Chennai (Madras War Cemetery). It’s very different down south, still magical, but there was too much travelling this time.

Namibia (18th August - 1st September 2007)
I wanted to do something different for my big birthday. I didn’t want a party to celebrate my 50th but to do something memorable, so climbing a sand dune seemed to fit the bill. Namibia looked so beautiful, and a lot less commercial as a safari destination than Kenya. We saw so many animals, stopped counting the number of giraffe, springbok etc we saw. Even saw a wild cheetah. Then the sand dunes, awesome!

North India (23rd December 2006 - 6th January 2007)
After spending Easter 2006 relaxing on the beach in Cuba I wanted a change. No more all inclusive relaxing holidays, time for an adventure! This was a small group back packing holiday with Intrepid Holidays to Northern India. The trip was called "Slowly down the Ganges" with a 3 day sail boat trip camping on sand banks, time in Varanasi and Pushkar, seeing the key sites in Jaipur and Agra for the Taj Mahal. Then there was the camel ride into the semi desert!

New Zealand (November 2003)
We spent a month travelling over both the North and South Islands. I love the Lord of the Rings, and after seeing the first movie in the trilogy knew I would love to visit New Zealand and to have a chance to visit some of the sites. We were luck enough to go just before the second film was released. Highlights of the trip were being in a small plane following the same mountains as Gandalf did at the start of the second film and seeing where Frodo and Sam saw the Oliphants!
